Introduction

April 17, 2017, marked a truly historic day for our community in southeastern Liberia. With deep gratitude and renewed hope, we gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony of our long-awaited Health Clinic. This milestone, part of Project Save Women and Children, represents not just the start of construction, but the beginning of healing, restoration, and change for countless families who have long suffered without access to basic healthcare.

The day was filled with excitement and unity. Community leaders, families, and partners joined together as we turned the first soil on the site. Each shovel lifted was symbolic—not just of building walls, but of building a brighter future. Smiles, prayers, and songs filled the air as we celebrated this shared victory, proving that even in the most remote and challenging places, hope can take root.

The Ceremony

The groundbreaking was more than an event—it was a celebration of faith, resilience, and shared vision. Leaders spoke words of encouragement, children sang, and the entire community gathered in anticipation of the transformation to come. This wasn’t simply about laying a foundation of bricks and mortar, but about laying a foundation of hope for future generations.

Why This Clinic Matters

For decades, mothers and children have been among the most vulnerable in our community, often forced to endure illness without access to medical care. In many cases, families had to walk for hours—or even days—to reach the nearest clinic. Too many lives have been lost simply because help was too far away.

This new health clinic will change that reality. It will provide:

  • Accessible medical care for over 200 families in the region.
  • Maternal and child health services, reducing preventable deaths.
  • A dispensary for medicine and treatment, available locally.
  • Health education and preventive care, helping families thrive.

Our Vision for the Future

The clinic is not just a building—it’s a promise. A promise that no mother will lose her child to a preventable disease, and no family will be left without care during times of crisis. It is part of a larger vision of community development, one that sees healthcare as a basic human right and every person as worthy of dignity, compassion, and healing.

Conclusion

The groundbreaking of the Health Clinic is only the beginning, but it is a powerful step forward. It reminds us that transformation is possible when communities, partners, and supporters unite around a shared vision.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us—through prayer, encouragement, and giving. The journey ahead will require persistence, resources, and faith, but today proves that hope is alive. Together, we will not only build a clinic but also a healthier and brighter future for generations to come.

Join us in this mission—because every life matters.
